Our family has a Christmas tradition. Each year, our children are encouraged to think about someone else. We all load up for a shopping trip and each kid picks out presents for another child their same age. We've done that for a few years and have always enjoyed watching our kids as they drop those gifts in a big box, excited that they have helped make someone's Christmas more special. FULL STORY

Over 5 years ago, God connected us with the unbelievable Gordon family and in the time that's followed, we've walked together through joyous celebrations and extreme hardship. In 2010, the Gordons faced a situation only God could give them grace to walk through, as they were given precious Baby Abby. FULL STORY

Spread the WoRD has opened my eyes to so many people I usually just pass by. Not that the intention is to ignore anyone, but somehow in the hustle and bustle of kids and work and making sure I watch all my shows on D.V.R., people are just over looked. I have driven by Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department Station 7 a million times in the last ten years and have yet to stop in and say thank you, we appreciate the sacrifices you make for us.

My family has been following the life and legacy of Brennan for a while now. What a cool kid!! He changed the world and people came closer to God and loved more because of him. That’s something to celebrate for sure. In honor of him and all of Brennan’s Buddies at Texas Children’s Hospital, Spread the WoRD went SHOPPING!!! We headed to ToysRus and filled a basket full of items off of their “wish list”.

Thursday night, I have the privilege of having dinner and spending some quality time with my favorite organization on the planet, Still Water Sports Camp. In honor of that, I thought I would repost the story of how it all started. I hope it inspires you to make a difference.
If you could save millions of lives, would you? FULL STORY

Landscaping
Often times I will have a client ask me for my advice on maximizing the bang for their buck when it comes to landscaping. I always preface my response by saying that I am not a landscape architect or professional landscaper. I do however have an opinion on the matter that I am happy to share.

Staying on budget
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people say that their number one fear when building a house is staying on budget. I completely understand where they are coming from. No one wants to spend their time designing and building a home only to find out at closing that it costs them more than they thought it would.

I'm kind of new to this whole blogging thing, so it's been hard for me to come up with things I think people will want to read about from me, which probably explains the month break between posts. So in order to be more consistent and to post things I htink people will find interesting or useful, I have decided to wirte about some of the questions I get asked about in meetings with my clients. Here we go.
Choosing a Builder
How does one choose a builder? This is probably the most common and definitely one fo the most important questions I get asked by my clients. Now I should qualify this by saying that I design custom homes primarily, so this would obviously be more relevant to someone building a custom home but it still holds up even in a production home environment.
